Obituary of Luis Alberto Cely
April 13, 1929 - March 31, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Luis Alberto Cely on March 31, 2023, peacefully surrounded by family.
Beloved husband for 48 years of Melida Cely. Loving father of son Luis Alejandro (his wife Mira) and daughter Emily (her husband Christopher). Dearest grandfather of Maxine. Cherished brother-in-law of Margarita. Survived by several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Vicente and Bernarda, his brothers and sister Vicente, Jorge, Joaquin, and Blanca, and his half-sisters Matilde and Maria.
Family and friends may attend services for Luis Alberto on Monday, 4/10, at Molnar Funeral Home in Southgate beginning at 5pm-8pm for Visitation, and 6pm to pray the Rosary. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, 4/11, at Gesu Catholic Church in Detroit with In State viewing at 3:30pm and a funeral mass to follow at 4pm.
Cremation will take place at The On-Site Crematory located within the Molnar Funeral Homes - Brownstown Chapel.
