Obituary of Donald W. Storck

March 5, 1931 – January 12, 2018

Donald W. Storck.  Age 86 of Wyandotte.

Peacefully went to see our unconditionally loving Lord and Savior Jan. 12, 2018, 1:17 AM. Selflessly served others. Incredibly blessed life.

Medically, our dad died of natural causes. Emotionally, he died of a broken heart. He was married to LaVonne (Draeger) for 65 yrs., who died only months earlier.  Throughout their lives together, they were active serving many community organizations, including their beloved church. They traveled often—visiting all 50 states and several countries. Friends describe our dad as a jokester, masterful storyteller and fun-loving person. Family describe him as a patient, devout husband; practical, incredibly loving dad; and a giving, fun grandpa. Born to Edward and Catherine (Balliet) Storck. Graduated from Flat Rock HS in 1949. Served in the US Army/Korean Conflict. Life Member of the Trenton/Wyandotte Masonic Lodge. Long-time member & officer of Consistory at St. John Church. Worked at Monsanto Co. & then retired from Michigan Bell/AT&T (PBX Repairman) after 20+ yrs. Passions were outdoor activities (especially hunting—shot 2 deer with one bullet), carpentry, woodworking and projects that included electrical work and plumbing (helped his dad and his own daughter build their family homes). “Jack of all trades”—the “go-to” person for help and repair advice by all. “All I want is a hammer in my hand,” dad would say. Dearly missed by 2 daughters—Marcia (John) Blackson & Denise (Gil) Webb; 5 grandchildren--Joshua (Angie) Blackson, Johanna (Tim) Clarke, Jeanettte Blackson, Morgan (Adam) Rogers, Harrison Webb; 8 great-grandchildren (with another on the way); brother Robert Storck; sister Shirlee Elden and numerous genuine, long-time friends.
