Obituary of Kala L. Vickers

March 17, 1988 - September 17, 2023

Kala L. Vickers. Age 35 of Southgate.

Beloved mother of Peyton Marku. Loving daughter of Jerry (Janis) Vickers and Kim (Joe) Davis. Dearest sister of J.D. Davis, Joyce Shipley, Angelina Davis and Isaac Davis. Dear granddaughter of Lorene “Cricket” Pennington, Sharon (Frank) Spiltener,  Garry (Pam) Curlee and the late Tom Vickers. Step granddaughter of Phylis “Tiger” Vickers. Cherished niece of Kirk Curlee, Katrina Schultz, Katie Bischoff, Kathy Haddon and Roger Davis. Also survived by the father of her child Mentor Marku, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to the Operation Underground Railroad. 

Family Tribute

Kala was born to Jerry Vickers and Kim Curlee in Detroit, MI March 17, 1988. She was raised in Warren and graduated highschool from Faith Community Christian Academy in St. Clair Shores in 2007. She went on to obtain her associates in criminal justice from Purdue University (Formally Kaplan University). 

Kala worked for Leadec Industrial Services. She loved her job and the coworkers that became close friends. She was known to always give 110%.

Kala enjoyed her beauty rest, watching the ID Channel (AKA “How to Kill your Husband” channel) and due to her irish heritage by association, she had a fine taste for light beer. Nothing compared to the time spent with the love of her life, her only son, Peyton.

Kala will be truly missed by all who knew her.
