Obituary of Joy Graves

 

June 8, 1943 - September 20, 2023

Joyce Ann “Joy” Graves.  Age 80 of Wyandotte.

Beloved wife of Richard “Rick” Graves for 60 years. Loving mother of Deborah (David) Mitsch and Jennifer (Joseph) Piechocki. Dearest grandmother of Benjamin Mitsch, Lucas Mitsch, Jessica (Michael) Leginski, and Joseph Piechocki, Jr.. Great grandmother of Elliot and Elena Leginski. Sister-in-law to Patrick (Patricia) Graves and John Graves. Dearest friend of Janie Lehmann. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Leone (Epley) Finfrock.

Joy served as Director of the Catholic Charities’ RSVP program before moving on to serve for 14 years as the first Center Director of the 32nd Degree Masonic Learning Centers for Children. In her spare time Joy loved to paint, watch birds, read, and sing with the church choir. She could also be found with her husband Rick, co-piloting their single-engine airplane on numerous trips around the United States, Canada, and even Australia.
 

Memorial contributions are appreciated to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or to Southeastern Michigan Children’s Dyslexia Center.

Cremation will take place at The On-Site Crematory, located within Molnar Funeral Homes - Brownstown Chapel.
