Obituary of Joseph Roger Vassar
November 22, 1932 – November 9, 2023
Joseph R. Vassar. Age 90 of Brownstown.
Joseph R. Vassar is now at peace and is home with his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was the beloved husband of Doris for 65 years. Loving father of Joseph J. (Joann) Vassar and David M. (Joell) Vassar. Cherished Nannu of Mathew John, Alysa Ann, and Logan James. Dear brother-in-law of Vince Tabone and Gertrude Borg. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He has joyfully rejoined his sisters Rita Smith (brother-in-law George Smith), Marie Tabone, along with his Mother Agnes Vassallo and Father Michael Vassallo.
Joseph moved on peacefully surrounded by family on November 9th, 2023 after a long difficult journey with dementia.

The family invites you to celebrate his life and remember Joseph at the Memorial Visitation on Monday, November 13th from 2:00 to 3:00 PM for family and public from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary Service at 6:00 PM at Molnar Funeral Home, 23700 West Road, Brownstown, MI 48134.
We also invite you to the funeral mass on Tuesday, November 14th, Viewing at 9:30 AM with Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Roch Catholic Church, 25022 Gibraltar Rd., Flat Rock MI 48134.
Following the celebration mass, Joseph will be laid to rest at St Hedwig Cemetery, 23755 Military Rd., Dearborn Heights, MI 48127.
The family asks that you join them for fellowship and a meal at Hungarian Rhapsody in Southgate immediately after the burial at approximately 1:00 PM. The address is Hungarian Rhapsody Restaurant, 14315 Northline Rd., Southgate, MI 48195.
We are thankful to family, friends, and neighbors who supported Joseph and his family during his journey and last days. We were blessed to have had the support of the team at Hampton Manor, the care of his Hospice team, and the care and companionship from Bill, who is now more like family than just a caregiver.
