Obituary of Edmond Pruneau

April 11, 1957 - December 7, 2023

Edmond J. “E.J.” Pruneau, Jr.  Age 66 of River Rouge.

Beloved husband of Alethia Pruneau, loving father of Jamie Pruneau, Bethany Pruneau, Edmond (April Roberts) Pruneau III, Mary Krzemien, and Stephenia Krzemien. Dearest grandfather of Maximus Davis, Laticia Martinez, Dakota Roberts, Ethan Pruneau, Jordan Pruneau, Tarek Farhat, Marina Ponder, William Ponder, and Julian Johnston. Best friend of Johnny Beaver.

EJ was a Union foreman, laborer, and workaholic retiring at the age of 55. A jack-of-all-trades, he could fix anything. He loved piddling in his workshop in his signature welding beanie, plain white tee, white tennis shoes, and blue jeans. A well-known pillar of the community, EJ could be seen cruising the neighborhood in his truck (10 miles under the speed limit), ensuring others that “there's no rush.” His routine consisted of having a coffee with his best friend, Johnny Beaver, then going to one (or both) of his daughters' houses for a father/daughter day. His favorite day of the week, however, was “Sunday Fun Day,” when friends and family would gather to cook out, swim, and laugh. He had a passion for music, action movies, collecting quarters, welding, and mathematics. A favorite of small children and animals, “Pippy” enjoyed spoiling both with equal measure, and his selflessness set a high standard as a role model for his children and grandchildren. EJ was a friend to all and loved by many. He had a way of making everyone feel safe in his presence, he was “home.”
