FAMILY TRIBUTE

Dick Thompson was born on April 23, 1941 in the small town of Irvona, PA. His dad worked at a brickyard and his mom raised four sons and one daughter of which Dick was the youngest boy. Dick left Irvona for the Army at age 18. He served his country and was discharged in the spring of 1965. He married Trella Westover and together they raised two sons, David and Howard. Dick worked at Detroit Ball Bearing in Riverview as a Customer Service Representative for a large bearing supplier for 38 years until his retirement in the fall of 2002. He was an active member at Wyandotte CMA Church and raised his family in faith there until 1990 and began attending First Baptist of Wyandotte where he was on the board of directors and active Deacon Committees. His passion was always serving the Lord and he was very active at the soup kitchens and food pantries for the less fortunate. He was loved and respected by his family, friends, co-workers, and church family. Dick will always be remembered for his undying faith in God, kindness and generosity.
