~Family Tribute~

Marion was born in Hamilton, Scotland on July 29th, 1941 to Davie and Agnes Ellis.  She was the second of three girls (Rena and Mamie).

Marion and her husband John (Iain) were married in Scotland on March 14th, 1963.  They’ve been married for 61 years as of March 2024.  With their firstborn (Karen), they immigrated to Canada in 1965 where their middle-child David was born.  In 1968 they immigrated again to the USA where they settled in Michigan and called it “Home.”  This is where their youngest (John) was born.  They were also blessed with two grandchildren Lindsay & David.

Marion worked at JCPenney in Lincoln Park for over 25 years where she started out in part time sales and worked her way up to Floor Manager.  She loved her career at JCPenney where she also developed many strong friendships.

Marion was a proud “Plarner” - which is a group that recycles plastic shopping bags and crochets them to make useable sleeping mats for the marginalized.  She also loved her weekly Thursday “Breakfast Club” outings with friends.  Friends often describe Marion with a magnetic sense of humor and a beautiful Scottish accent.  Marion was the heart of the Miller family and will be greatly missed.
