Obituary of Roy A. Ball
March 25, 1938 - May 28, 2024
Roy A. Ball. Age 86 of Southgate.
Beloved husband of Mary Jo Ball for 62 wonderful years. Loving father of Beverley (Michael) Gould, Richard (Dee Dee) Ball and Betty (the late Richard) Marshall. Dearest grandfather of Alison (Phil) Ross, Ryan Regan, Reilly Ball, Olivia (Alex) Boesch, Amara Gould and Jacob Marshall. Great grandfather of Ben, Emma and Octavian. Dear brother of Charles (the late Wanda) Ball. Brother-in-law of Pam Ball. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and many special friends of ALCC. Preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Clara Ball, brothers James, Ronnie, Danny and Roger.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are appreciated to the American Heart Association.
Family Tribute ~
Roy was the 2nd of 6 boys in his family. He graduated from Metcalfe County High School in Edmonton, KY in 1958 and headed directly to Michigan to work for Barton Malow. He was a carpenter for 38 years and an active member of the United Brotherhood Of Carpenters and Joiners Of America for 50 years.
He was an avid hunter and had some amazing trips filled with many stories. He enjoyed playing racquetball, handball and golfing. He liked to drive to the local coffee shop for his evening cup or two and many chats with the locals. Travel was the plan after retirement. He went cross country with his loving wife, Jo. When relaxing he would enjoy watching his favorite Westerns. He also loved all of the football and basketball games that he could watch. Those were also great reasons to have a cat nap or two!
Roy cherished his family and friends, all of whom will miss him greatly.
