Don (Doc) Conley my big brother, Even as a teenager he enjoyed having his little brothers hanging around with him and his friends. I remember when I was seven may be eight, Don and his friends were hang out across the park at Ronnie's house. I jump on my bike, rode over there to hang and check out the cars. Tom Broom had a 57 Thunderbird. When I got over there, I was checking out the T-bird, Tom tossed me in the driver seat. I remembering being in the back seat of TD's (Tom Dorsey) Camaro, Don riding shotgun, driving down Allen Road in a little street race. Can't tell how many time's hanging out at John Lewis with Don and his friends and their cars. Being nine years older than me, he was always my big brother even though by the time I was twelve /thirteen I was three inches taller than him. When I was nine, Don took me to the Detroit Drag Way for my first time. I remember the Great Howard's Hamburger Incident, I wasn't there but I remember the Old Man had to go down to the police department to claim Don . My recollection is this, Doc, Clyde (Mike Ritchie) and TD (Tom Dorsey) went to Howard's Hamburger were some older gentlemen decided to give the three young lads a hard time. Guess the older gentlemen thought they had easy prey. As Don would tell me he had no worries with Clyde and TD by his side. One thing about Don, I have so many great memories with him and about him. When Don and Joyce found Southgate Free Will Baptist Church and Brother Ron they had found The Conley's a new home and family. Saturday's golf and breakfast won't be the same without him. Love you and Miss you Brother, Homer
