Obituary of Gloria "Jeannie" Sigler
November 15, 1939 - July 12, 2024
Gloria Jean (Jeannie) Sigler, age 84, of Riverview, formerly of Woodhaven, passed away peacefully July 12, 2024.
Jeannie was the second of five children. Jeannie graduated from St. Cecilia High School in Detroit. She was captain of her basketball team and excelled at softball.
In 1959, Jeannie married the love of her life, Arthur T. Sigler. They were married 58 years before Art preceded her in death on October 12, 2017.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Jeannie dedicated many years working in the cafeterias of the Woodhaven School District.
Jeannie cherished time camping up north during summers and enjoyed being a snowbird in Florida for many winters. She loved to bowl, play cards, laugh and joke with friends and family. She loved to dance. Jeannie found strength and comfort in her faith. She contributed as a Lector for Our Lady of the Woods Catholic Church. She donated her talents as a coach to Woodhaven Parks and Recreation and Meals on Wheels.
Jeannie is preceded in death by her husband Art and parents Frank and Catherine (Winnie) Kudron. She is survived by her children Denise Redmon, Dianne (Gene) Gaudino, Ken (Susan), David (Richie) and Kerri (Alan) DeBiasi. She leaves behind 11 cherished grandchildren: Elizabeth, Hailey, Dominic, Damon, Mario, Michael, Corey, Ashley, Cody, Jack and Ava, as well as seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Winifred Dayle, brother Michael Kudron, sister Kathleen Cornell and brother Keith (Jeanie) Kudron, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
While Jeannie’s love for her family came first, friends always knew they could turn to her for help, compassion and companionship in tough times. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
