~Family Tribute ~
David Paul Flanigan (commonly known as Papa Dave) of New Boston went home to be with the Lord on Monday morning, September 23, 2024 at the age of 86.
David was born July 31, 1938. He served in the United States Air Force. Out of the service, he became a carpenter and later started his own building company. He restored many old buildings and churches in Detroit. Over the years, he helped many family members with small projects to remodeling their homes. He was the kind of guy to always help out. He also built a park-like pavilion, music stage and kitchen that the family enjoyed for many years on summer holidays.
He enjoyed his country life, rocking on the back porch with a cup of coffee watching mother nature and taking care of his 5 acres.
He was a man of faith and a devoted member of the Church of Christ. Just by looking at his worn and weathered Bible, you can see he read it often. His family and his strong faith in God were the most important parts of his life. He will be dearly missed.
