~Family Tribute~
Born in 1934 to Charles and Loretta Lauzon of River Rouge, Michigan, Larry had five siblings and he often talked about the fun he had playing with them and the many kids in his neighborhood. A good athlete, Larry played baseball, hockey and golf and enjoyed bowling. He met Marie in 1953. Drafted in the Army in 1956 he served on several military bases including his primary posting in Stuttgart, Germany.
He returned from the Army in 1958 and married Marie. They raised three children, Cathy, Mike and Mark, in Wyandotte and Riverview. He was a tool maker and supervisor working at General Motors, Dana and McCord, with a reputation for problem solving. He also worked part-time at the Riverview Golf Course and as a firefighter in the Riverview Fire Department. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years.
Larry and Marie’s family grew with the marriages of Cathy (Pascal), Mike (Janet) and Mark (Noreen). He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and their spouses, John (Jessica), Ben (Kristen), Tim (Taylor), Pax (Irma), Thalia, Rae and Ivy. Three much-loved great-grandchildren recently followed, Owen, Eliott and Jack.
He retired in 1989 and spent many happy winters golfing with Marie in Fort Meyers, Florida. He was always busy working with others, either by donating his time to a food bank or helping a neighbor or family member with a home improvement project. Larry and Marie also travelled extensively, visiting all 50 States and most countries in Europe.
Larry would be the first to tell you he lived a fantastic life. His was a life well lived.
