Obituary of Lera Whittemore
Lera Dean Whittemore, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024, at the age of 94. Born on July 6, 1930, in Woodbury, Tennessee, she was one of several siblings, including her cherished twin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey, and her son, Randall. She leaves behind her son Rickey, nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved deeply and who will miss her dearly.
A hardworking and dedicated woman, she was employed for many years at General Motors in Livonia, Michigan.
Family was the center of her life. She took great joy in gathering her loved ones around the table, a tradition that will be fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to share a meal with her.
She lived for many years in Southgate, Michigan, where she created a warm and welcoming home filled with love and laughter.
Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now reunited with those she loved and missed. Though she has left this world, her legacy and strength will live on through her family and all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be determined.
