Esther Margaret Northrop. Age 92 of Southgate.
Beloved wife of the late Earl Louis Northrop. Loving mother of Karen Northrop, Bob (Ingrid) Northrop, the late Earl Northrop Jr., Julie (Dave) Sandberg, the late Paul Northrop and Lois (James) Dwornick. Cherished grandmother of Eric (Kelsey), Kurt (Han), Nick (Ashley), Melanie, Catherine, Patrick, Martin (Chelsea), Matthew, Molly (Nathan), Megan (Peter) and Melissa. Great grandmother of Oliver, Rylee and Charlotte. Dear daughter of the late Emil and Mary Herman. Dearest sister of Mary Lou Roberts. Aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Esther retired from Wyandotte General Hospital, where she was a dedicated nurse for many years. She was an active member of St. Cyprian Ladies Guild and a Eucharistic Minister. She was a member of the Widows Club, Ministry of Soup Kitchens and the Dearborn Gem and Mineral Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the Father Casey Solanus Center or to Detroit Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Esther’s honor.
