Obituary of Debora Riddell

January 15, 1961 – April 23, 2018

Debora Riddell, Age 57 of Riverview.

Beloved wife of Neill Riddell. Loving mother of Brian Bilbrey, David Riddell and Marshall Riddell. Dearest daughter of Peggy Bilbrey and the late Richard Bilbrey. Dear sister of Kim Dennis, Greg Bilbrey, Jeff Bilbrey and Judy Bechtel.

FAMILY TRIBUTE

Debora Ann Riddell, age 57, passed away on April 23, 2018.  Following a childhood spent in several local communities, including Taylor MI, “Deb” later became a long-time resident of Riverview MI, where she met her husband Neill and raised her three sons, Brian, David and Marshall.

She was employed outside the home until disabled by her medical condition, working as an administrative assistant for ASC, Inc., in Southgate MI and, most recently, in the sales department of automotive supplier Metavision LLC of Troy MI.

Debbie enjoyed various recreational activities outside the home.  Over the years, she and her husband Neill bowled in a variety of Downriver mixed leagues.  She loved gaming including, in particular, bingo.  Debbie and one of her closest friends, Marianne Holoday, were “regulars” in the bingo halls of Windsor Ontario, and the two of them were undoubtedly well known by immigration officials on both sides of the border.

Ultimately, however, Debbie’s true passion was her family.  Her love of her sons was immeasurable. She particularly looked forward to and greatly enjoyed the peace of extended stays, accompanied by her mother and others, at a family retreat in Ontario’s Georgian Bay area.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Richard Bilbrey and, in addition to her husband and 3 sons, is survived by her mother, Peggy Bilbrey, sisters Kim Dennis and Judy Bechtel, and brothers Greg and Jeff Bilbrey.  All were with Debbie at the conclusion of her struggle.

Debbie’s abiding legacy is her example of how one can be dealt exceedingly serious blows and yet live a life of courage and dignity.
