Obituary of Elaine 'Joyce' Hammill

January 8, 1939 – July 8, 2018

Elaine “Joyce” Hammill. Age 79 of Woodhaven.

Beloved wife of Raymond Hammill. Loving mother of Tod Hammill and the late Kirk Hammill. Dearest grandmother of Cara (Shaun) Courtney, Raymond, Ashley, Jacob and Dana. Dear great grandmother of Braylen, Brynleigh and Lainey. Mother in law of April Hammill. Preceded in death by many family and friends. She was born in Elkton, Michigan at home. Elaine enjoyed being a beautician for 50 years as well as gardening, painting and spending time with her family.

FAMILY TRIBUTE

Joyce Hammill graduated from Elkon High School in 1957. After high school, she went on to complete beauty school. She enjoyed a long career and retired after 50 years. Joyce took pride in her work and her clients. 

Joyce and Ray met through mutual friends in 1958. Just two short years later, they married. Joyce adored being a wife, mother, grandmother, and a great grandmother. She loved gardening, fishing, painting and going Up North. She loved spending time with family and friends. Joyce had one of the biggest hearts. She was one of the most loving, caring, and generous people. Joyce had such an inviting personality and one of the brightest smiles. 

She left an impact on everyone who knew her. For now, we will look for visits from her, we will remember all of our times together, and continue to stay strong as a family. Although our family will never be the same, we have gained a beautiful guardian angel.
