FAMILY TRIBUTE

Kenneth, with the support of his wife Hazel, made an early decision to provide his body for research to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Michigan.

Kenneth had a long affiliation with specialists at the U of M cardiac program due to his heart issues.  The most severe of these was his aortic dissection.  This is a split down the length of the aorta.  In most circumstances, this situation would cause instant death.  Ken lived with this condition for many years with limited  additional complications because his aorta was supported at each end of the dissection by blood clots.   Ken’s condition intrigued his medical team.  One doctor in particular asked him to consider making an anatomical gift when he passed.  They can research anything they want to, but we know it was God keeping him alive so he could continue to teach us about life!

He and Hazel are honoring the request of U of M.  The university’s medical facility will study his body.  After that, there will be an inurnment at the Veterans’  National  Cemetery in Holly, MI.
