Obituary of Amy Jo Owens - York

November 20, 1974 - September 2, 2018

Amy Jo Owens-York.  Age 43 of Brownstown.  

Wife of Shawn, loving daughter of Joe and Nancy Owens, granddaughter of Louise Trotter, sister of Lisa (Mike) Sobell, aunt of Michael Sobell, niece of Kathy Suiter and Tommy Trotter, cousin of  Jacob Suiter and Michael Trotter.  Also survived by her loving companion Buddy. 

FAMILY TRIBUTE

Amy Jo was a socially conscious and kind-hearted person from childhood through adulthood.  She was a champion of the underdog and would make sure that those around her felt good and safe. She always welcomed the new person first; she went out of her way to create peace. She was truly loved every single minute of her life by so many.  When she was younger she donated her hair to Children with Hair Loss in Rockwood. She only adopted shelter dogs to give them a nice loving home and a second chance at happiness.

Amy Jo leaves behind an adoring family who will miss her desperately along with hundreds of friends she has made and kept many since kindergarten. 

Amy Jo was born to Joe and Nancy Owens and her big sister Lisa, on November 20, 1974. She is the reason for the countless smiles and laughter we will all remember. That laugh of hers was infectious.

Amy Jo graduated from Riverview Community High School in 1992, then went on to get her Associates in Business Administration from Davenport University.

Amy Jo married her love, Shawn York in September of 1997 and enjoyed traveling across the country as well as taking cruises with him.
