Obituary of Peggy June Wilds

Peggy June Wilds, age 87 of Rockwood, Michigan passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on October 18, 2018. Peggy was born on February 23, 1931 in Mayfield, Kentucky to the late Gervis Manning and Ila Bell-Manning. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Wilds. She is survived by her children, Gradon (Ruth) Wilds, Patricia (Clay) Wright, and Jenny (Jeffrey) Duncil, grandchildren Ronald Myers, Jr., Travis Wilds, Jesse Wilds and Kaitlyn Wilds-Crow, step-grandchildren Jeffrey Duncil, Jr., Jesse Duncil and Jacob Duncil, great-grandchildren Emerich Wilds, Gavin Wilds, Jocelyn Wilds and Jordan Crowe, and sister Allie Martin. She is also preceded in death by her four brothers, Robert Manning, Leonard Manning, Gervis Jr. Manning and Johnny Manning, as well as her two sisters, Mary Tackett and Martha Lee.

 

Family Tribute

Peggy June Wilds was born in Mayfield, Kentucky on February 23, 1931. She was one of eight children. At the age of 14, she came to live in Michigan. Peggy worked at White Tower Hamburgers in Detroit until she married Joseph H. Wilds on September 2, 1950. Once married, she worked alongside her husband in several of their businesses. Together, Peggy and Joseph had three children – Gradon, Patricia, and Jenny. Her hobbies included sewing, music, traveling, renovating homes, and swimming. Peggy was active in her church all of her life, including working with Vacation Bible School, Women for Christ, and Nursery Duty. She would have wanted to be remembered for her faithfulness to Christ, and how much she loved her family. Peggy was known for her grace, strength and loving spirit. When we think of her, we will always recall her loving devotion to family.
