Obituary of Woodrow Stanley Patterson
February 2, 1941 - November 20, 2018
Woodrow Stanley Patterson. Age 77 of Woodhaven.
Beloved husband of Joyce. Dearest brother of Etta Jean (the late David) Goss and Hugh J. (Sara) Patterson. Dear brother in-law of Jean Knuckles and Joan Petro. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
FAMILY TRIBUTE
Mr. Patterson, known as Stan to his family and Woody to his friends, was born February 2, 1941 in Detroit, MI. He attended Cass Technical High School and Henry Ford College.
Stan served in the Army from 1958-1963 and was stationed in Hawaii, with assignments in Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
When Stan returned from the military he obtained a degree in computer technology. This led to a career at Chrysler in their information technology department, where he worked for over 30 years. He also worked at Ford Motor Company as a software engineer.
Stan married Joyce on May 30, 1969. They shared a love for travel and for family and friends. Stan and Joyce traveled to many locations around the world. Friends and family were invited along frequently to share the good times.
Stan was a funny, caring and kind. He was generous to a fault. He worked diligently for many charities and he provided toys for children all over the country. He touched the lives of many people. Stan will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.
