FAMILY TRIBUTE

Christopher Michael Hoffman was born on February 24th 1982 in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in June of 2000. Chris married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Heather, whom he was with since the age of 15. On September 10 2010, they were finally married, and together they made two beautiful, strong, amazing children – Alyssa and Zachary.

To say Chris was a dedicated employee is an understatement! No matter how frigidly cold or dehydratingly hot it was, Chris was there every day with a smile on his face and a few jokes and smart*** comments to go around. His hard work ethic started very young around the age of 10 when he would help out at grandma Dean’s local diner, Zenith Lunch. At 14, he moved to Kola’s Catering for a few years until he was old enough to drive and start his own landscaping business.

By the age of 18, Chris started his lifelong career as “The BEST heavy equipment operator around” quoted by the owner of his company. His abundance of energy made him well known around the yard and his co-workers enjoyed having him there. He NEVER took a day off no matter how sick he was, or how treacherous the work conditions. He was there from sun up ‘til sundown! In addition, he would work on holidays and through his vacations just to provide extra for his family. Chris was the hardest working man that would go above and beyond daily to provide a wonderful life for his wife and kids!

Chris and Heather’s love story began in his 10th grade Social Studies class when their teacher, Mr. Tear, announced to the class that he strongly believed Chris and Heather should date. Well, he took his teacher’s brilliant advice, and the rest is history.

On December 29, 2004, Chris was blessed with the second love of his life who stole his heart from the second she was born! Alyssa is a daddy’s girl all the way and had him wrapped around her precious finger since the second he laid eyes on his beautiful, brown eyed princess! Alyssa could do NO wrong in her daddy’s eyes and he would do anything to put a smile on her face. July 14, 2009 would complete the Hoffman Family with the birth of the vivacious son he always wanted! Chris was so proud to have a son that follows in his footsteps with the confidence and attitude to be a successful go-getter and not care what others think!

Chris spent many nights after work teaching the kids wrestling moves and shooting hoops with them. He also loved playing catch or tossing the football around with Zack and taking Alyssa for bike rides or walks with our dog, Sadie. Both Alyssa and Zack have so many traits of their father that will be cherished and carried on forever!

Besides his family, Chris also had a passion for cooking and boating. He took much pride in his brand new Bayliner that he bought directly from the boat show with his hard earned money! There are so many unforgettable memories spent on this boat with family and friends. Chris and his brother, Ralph, had an unbreakable bond and had each other’s back ALWAYS, no matter what! He was so proud to have Ralph as his body guard growing up, showing him the ropes in every aspect of life!

Chris’ loyalty was admirable, whether it was to his wife, kids, family, friends or work! If he liked you, you knew he would have your back in any situation and go out of his way to help in any way possible. On the other hand, if he didn’t like you, you probably knew it because he wasn’t afraid to show how he really felt. Chris’ dedication and devotion to his wife Heather, daughter Alyssa, son Zachary and to his work is irreplaceable!

Christopher Hoffman was a strong, hardworking, loyal man taken away from his loved ones way too soon. His vivacious, compassionate memory will be carried on FOREVER and NEVER be forgotten! R.I.P.
