Obituary of Gregorio Pinon

January 15, 1946 - December 14, 2018

Gregorio Pinon. Age 72 of Taylor.

Beloved husband of Sherry Pinon.  Loving father of Lito (Jennifer) Pinon, Greg Pinon Jr. and Sara (Eric) Magiera.  Dearest grandfather of Sara Pinon, Manny Pinon and Myiah Magiera.  Dear brother of Quetha Prather.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Pinon is a Vietnam Veteran - U.S. Navy.

FAMILY TRIBUTE 

Greg was born at Wyandotte Hospital on January 15, 1946. He was the 7^th child born to Merced and Ceciela. He was a 10 pound baby. Growing up, he played cowboys and he wanted to be an Altar boy. He went to church at Saint Francis in Ecorse. He also attended school in Ecorse. Greg was the fastest runner at school 3. In his senior year, just 2 months until graduation, he joined the Navy. He served from April 1964 until August 1968. He served on a PBR in the canals of Vietnam.

He had many jobs over the years. He retired from Towne Air Freight in 2012. He was a dock worker as well as a shipping and receiving clerk. He belonged to the VVA (Vietnam Veterans of America). He loved going to those meetings and being with his friends more than anything.

Greg, for the most part, was a quiet man who never complained. He had an awesome sense of humor and would make you laugh. He loved watching sports – Tigers, Lions, Pistons, and even the Red Wings. His favorite team was U of M College Football. Every Saturday morning he would play the Fight song. He didn’t miss an opening day for almost 30 years.

He also loved to play cards, scrabble and checkers with his granddaughter. He did cross words and word search puzzles. Greg loved watched movies and TV shows. He was an amazing husband and father who gave everything to his family and nothing for himself. He was always there for us.
