Obituary of Jacqueline Rose Marie Mojeske

 

February 26, 1975 - February 21, 2019

 

Mrs. Jacqueline Rose Marie (Barrette) Mojeske was born to Richard and Theresa Barrette in Belle River, Ontario, Canada on February 26, 1975 and was granted her angel wings on February 21, 2019.

 

Jacqueline attended elementary school at St. John the Baptist, in Belle River, Ontario and graduated from St. Anne’s High School in Tecumseh, Ontario. She earned a bachelor’s degree in social science, with a psychology major, as well as a BA in elementary education, both from the University of Windsor. She earned a Master of Education degree in educational leadership from Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

 

In September 2016, Jacqueline became the seventh principal of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic School. Prior to that, she was the principal at St. Damian Catholic School in Westland, since January 2012. Additionally, she was principal at St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Monroe. From 2007 through 2011, Jacqueline was vice principal and kindergarten teacher at St. Alfred in Taylor. From 2005-2007, she was a fourth grade teacher at St. Albert the Great in Dearborn Heights. Jacqueline began her over 20 year Catholic education career in the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board holding positions at the school board and teaching literacy, French and fourth grade before moving to the United States.

 

Besides Jacqueline’s passion for education and teaching, she also enjoyed volleyball, crafts, cooking, the beach, scuba diving, swimming, camping, boating, fishing, attending sporting events and spending time with family and friends.

 

Jacqueline is survived by her husband, Richard; sons, Corey and Bradley, granddaughter Ryder, her parents Richard and Theresa Barrette; brothers Mike and Gerard; her in-laws Henry and Elizabeth Mojeske; brother-in-law Mike Mojeske; sister-in-law Lori Rule; nieces and nephews, as well as many extended family members and friends.
