Dear Nacewicz Family,
Marlena, Tony and Julie (it was hard not to call you Landry) and the entire family. Our friendship began in 1973 via my brother who worked with Roy in Body Engineering at Ford. The love of the Ford Flathead V8’s and in the 1937 Ford was born.
Many days , nights, weekend.. were spent learning, laughing and building a friendship. During this time I learned a tremendous amount about the Ford V8 and 1937 Fords. Instructions “Hands On” experience help him in his restorations. The ultimate honor was when he allowed to sell us the 1937 Ford Tudor Sedan, his first restoration.
My other hobby prior to the old Fords is Lionel Trains. Sharing this with Roy ignited him to obtain his Lionel train set, that was at his parents in Agawam, MA. We still would chat about them even a recently a month or two ago.
If somebody would ask me I could easily right a book about my Buddy Roy Nacewicz. The stories, our adventures, the characters we encountered over the years. Prior to the internet and digital photo era. Every correspondence when searching for cars and parts were done by phone or mail. Pictures were harder to obtain. Many a road trip for the N.O.S. Grille or new project ended in a dead end. However the memories and laughs would last a lifetime.
So many wonderful times... trips to Hershey, Tulsa, Kansas City, St Paul, Indy and Toronto a just a few. Perhaps one day I can share one of the favorite story of going through customs to enter Canada, heading to the Ford Car Show in Toronto.
It is an honor to be associated with the man Roy Nacewicz. Proud to be known as his friend. Even though we never had a chance to visit again..our conversation via text or email were always enjoyable and filled with laughter.
Miss and love you “Coach”
Respectfully and lovingly...
