Family Tribute
Ed joined the army when he was 17 and did two tours of Duty in Vietnam as a combat engineer. He served from January 3, 1962 - December 31, 1967. He loved the army. Ed went to Baker College for three years and then one year at Wayne State to get a Builder’s License. He really enjoyed building things to pass time when he retired.
Ed worked for 37 years at Ford Motor Company as an inspector and retired on August 1, 2003. He was very much a homebody and wasn’t one for crowds. Ed enjoyed camping up North for our family reunions each year. Ed loved to cook for all the kids especially steaks. He enjoyed fishing and going to the casino. His favorite place to go was Florida at Disney World, we would go many times.
Ed was a what you see is what you get kind of guy, he was very quiet most of the time. He had a recipe for Thanksgiving Dinner, first take the turkey out of the fridge, second go fishing, and third come home to the turkey all done.
I never had a doubt the love he had for me. He spoiled me everyday. Ed was my rock and my hero.
