Obituary of Kevin Patrick Sullivan
KEVIN PATRICK SULLIVAN
Kevin was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Livonia on May 18, 1985. He grew up in Canton, Michigan, attended Our Lady of Good Counsel School in Plymouth, and graduated from Detroit Catholic Central High School in Redford in 2003. He played with two State Champion football teams at CC. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a B.A. in History and Geography in 2012.
He enlisted in the Army directly out of high school, and went through basic training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina. He served two tours of duty in the Middle East, at Baghdad’s Camp Liberty, with Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2006 through 2008, and in Kuwait, with Operation Enduring Freedom from 2016 through 2017. He continued in the Army Reserves when not on active duty.

His hobbies included hunting, shooting, reading (including every Star Wars book), history, Michigan football, and playing video games most of all.
He is survived by his fiancée, Holly Martin, and her two daughters Zina and Layla; his parents, Lois (Groh) Sullivan and Patrick Sullivan of Indian River; his sister Erin Sullivan and her wife Laura (Webb) Sullivan, and their son, Ryan Sullivan of Milan; his grandfather Kenneth Groh of Riverview; great-aunt Beatrice Whitman of Osprey, Florida; great-aunt Donna (Groh) Woodby of Taylor. Kevin has 18 aunts and uncles: John and Linda (Musko) Sullivan, Annemarie Sullivan, David and Suzanne (Sullivan) Shomsky, Andrea Sullivan, Timothy and Katherine (Henn) Sullivan, William and Kitrina (Norris) Sullivan, Gerald and Carol (Stooke) Sullivan, James and Barbara (Louwers) Sullivan, Paul and Denise (Moss) Sullivan, Michael and Cynthia (Lee) Groh. Cousins Joseph and Kim (Deuber) Sullivan, Kenneth Hannah, Jason and Erica (Fritz) Shomsky, Samish and Carrie (Shomsky) Kilam, Matthew and Alexandria (Sullivan) Gollhofer, Timothy and Shannon (Vickers) Sullivan, Colleen Sullivan, John Gutowski, Alan and Ashley (Wrobel) Gutowski, Brad and Erica (Sullivan) Dryer, Michael Sullivan, Eric and Geralyn (LaPointe) Lomax, Matthew and Cera (Sullivan) Bigelow, Paul Joseph Sullivan, Charles and Courtney (Miller) Sullivan, Daniel Sullivan, Clare Sullivan and Bryan Stevens, Robert Sullivan, Sabrina Sullivan, Griffin Sullivan, Kira Groh and Brett LeBlanc.
