Obituary of Dolores K. Nagle

October 10, 1938 - August 8, 2019

Dolores K. Nagle.  Age 80 of Allen Park.

Beloved wife of the late John Nagle.  Loving mother of Steven (Don) Nagle, Michael (Lisa) Nagle, Robert (Nancy) Nagle, Patrick (Connie) Nagle and Susan (Joel) Marchand.  Dearest grandmother of Bethany Nagle, Kristin Nagle, Emily Nagle, Amelia Nagle and Josh (Alisha) Marchand.  Great grandmother of Lillian Marchand, Abigail Marchand, Ian Marchand and Annabelle Marchand.  Dear sister of Andrew Fary Jr.  Preceded in death by parents Andrew and Lottie Fary.

Family Tribute

How do you sum up 80 years of a life well lived? Proverbs 31:10-31 is the perfect description!

Dolores was a faithful wife, loving mother, dear grandmother and sweet friend to all her knew her.  Her faith in Jesus Christ was exemplified in all she did.  She was a beautiful Christian woman who was always doing something for others.  She never sat idle, even through her final years with Alzheimer's.  She was always doing.

Earlier in life, Dolores was very involved in her church - serving as a Eucharistic minister; teaching preschool; helping out in the food pantry, church festivals, meals on wheels, Christ-Net; serving on the planning committee for the annual Advent Tea. She loved helping with church projects her kids were involved with - shopping for toys for kids at Christmas; filling Operation Christmas Child boxes; serving food at Week-In-Wyandotte; helping with VBS decorations. Some of her final projects were stringing beads to make bracelets for missions - always making sure each one had a cross on it to point people to Jesus.   

Serving was her number one passion.   

Family was very important to Dolores.  She and her husband, John, celebrated 48 years of marriage before his passing.  They had 5 children (within 6 years) - Steven, Michael, Robert, Patrick and Susan.  As a young mother, Sunday was always family time - taking the 5 children to visit grandparents.  Many family memories were made at Lobdell Lake and Lake City.  She loved all the holidays and birthday celebrations when "the family could get together".

She was very proud of her Polish heritage, so she enjoyed visiting the Polish Art Center in Hamtramck; playing her CD of polkas; making pierogi and golabki.

Some hobbies included cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, needle point, gardening and any type of craft project. And as a girl she played the accordion.

She loved Frankenmuth, Greenfield Village and any garden she could walk through.  After retiring from Masco, John & Dolores would get in their motor home, drive to the end of the block and choose which direction to drive on their next adventure.

Dolores lived life, and lived it well.  The Alzheimer's may have slowed her down and changed her course, but it didn't stop her.  God was glorified through Dolores' life and she was greeted by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with "well done" as she entered eternity!
