Obituary of Jeffrey Kelly Coleman
1962 – 2019
Jeffrey Kelly Coleman. Age 57 of Gibraltar.
Beloved husband of Jill Coleman. Loving father of Ryan (Samuel), Kathryn, Andrew, and Megan. Dearest brother of John (Karen) Coleman, The late Debra (Marv) Knapp, James (Karen) Coleman, Shannon (James) McGrath, Patrick (Lori) Coleman and Jennifer (Mitch) Hesson. Son in Law of Nancy and the late Thomas Schweizer, Brother in law of Kelly and Matt Burkhardt, and Lisa Burbo. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents James and Virginia Coleman.
Jeff was a graduate of Carlson High School. Jeff was the Golf Service Manager at Meadowbrook Country Club for 30-plus years. He was a staple at the country club and was beloved by staff and members alike. He had the great ability to lead and in a way that was admirable and noteworthy. He had an integral role in shaping and molding hundreds upon hundreds of young caddies, many of whom, attribute who they are today from the work they did with Jeff.
Although dedicated to his work, he was a family man through and through. Jeff never missed a single event that involved his children and was the driving force behind their educational and professional successes. Jeff had a phenomenal sense of humor and was the most giving, sensitive, empathetic person many have ever known. There are endless stories of Jeff selflessly acting for those he cared about.
Football season was his favorite time of year, always sporting University of Michigan gear. He was happiest watching Wolverine football at his home, with his family, on his couch, with a Diet Mountain Dew. Jeff was a handyman and knew how to fix just about anything. He liked to create projects for himself, always keeping busy. His garage and his yard were his domain.
Jeff’s ability to connect with others was special. So many had the opportunity to get to know Jeff and his one-of-a-kind personality. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.
The Coleman families are overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness and kind gestures regarding the passing of Jeff, Friday.
Many friends continue to inquire about making memorial donations for the family. If your intention is to make a charitable donation, send flowers to the funeral home, or help out the family in some other regard, it would be greatly appreciated if you would direct those kind thoughts to Megan Coleman’s MESP account.
If you knew Jeff then you know he and Jill‘s children’s education is greatly important and always held in highest regard.
