I have known Sherri for 19 years. She is (not was) my dearest friend and sister. I am sad for not having her with us in this world but I am relieved that she was freed from her crippled body.
My sweet Sherri endured the pain of living with Multiple Sclerosis for 21 years with unbelievable courage, grace and quiet strength. The disease crippled her body but did not win over her mind and spirit. Sherri was a fighter, giving up was never an option. Her passion was Palestine. While battling with the disease, Sherri gave her best to the Palestinian cause and Justice. As she grew weaker and left with the realization that she could not fight much longer, she packaged her activism and summed up her love for Palestine the culture and Palestine the people in creating "PalestinianSurprises.com Escape to a World of Surprises" . It was exhibited in Bethlehem Museum, in Palestine.
Sherri loved to prank people and for some reason she pretended to be Irish in her pranks :) Her humor would surface when she remembered her healthy and bubbly days. She valued building herself independently and she lived independently until the last minute. She was kind and loving. On top of her pain, she carried the pain of others, prayed for them and encouraged them. She was pure and graceful in every way. She had angel figurines all over her home, she herself is an angel!
When one dies, they say rest in peace. I say now you are free my dearest, run, fly, play, and laugh with your beloved father. Now you are free to fly to all the places you wanted to visit. You are free to watch over the people you love. You are no less than an angel. Until we meet again, I will miss you my friend. I carry you in my heart wherever I go. I talk to you and share me life with you. Your body expired but you are living and present!!
“42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.” Corinthians 15.
My condolences to the family.
With Love,
Jane
